My collaborator Daniel at https://chemisting.com/ and I have setup an “organization” (not a legal entity) in order to apply for funding for our open-source battery project, in order to appear more than just a pair of academically disgruntled PhDs doing battery science in their respective apartments.

We’re calling it the “Flow Battery Research Collective”, or FBRC for short, since that kinda sorta sounds like a research lab acronym (watch out, we’re coming for you, PARC just kidding, it seems like PARC has run out of steam)

Our website is at https://fbrc.dev/.

Also we get slightly more professional-looking emails when we reach out to companies or other researchers, rather than kurks_home_lab@hotmail.biz. (Email us for real at info@fbrc.dev if you want to reach out!)

I actually made the website pretty easily using Quarto, since I already have the hang of that ecosytem, and while knowing next to nothing about web “development”. Maybe that is obvious in how the website looks…

I’m quite happy about the automatic image resizing though and that it seems alright on both desktop and mobile devices out of the box.

The source code is here if you’re curious or wanted to borrow from our site for you own project website.
